There is no general guideline for how many acupuncture sessions one needs to feel better and maintain results.
The total number of necessary visits depends entirely on each unique patient. Chronic conditions, however, do typically call for more attention than less severe cases. It has been shown that a certain number of patients achieve maximum benefits for up to three months following a course of therapy.

Acupuncture is a health science that is used to rectify pain and dysfunction in the body. Beginning in China between 5,000 and 7,000 years ago, it did not become accepted on a national level until 1971. Since then, acupuncture has been widely adopted to help a variety of conditions ranging from headaches to substance addiction.
Wheeler Chiropractic & Acupuncture Clinic mainly utilizes modern, non-needle acupuncture. This approach involves the use of specific electrical pulses to target the area or areas of concern. non-needle acupuncture has been known to produce excellent results. If you prefer, our practice also offers traditional acupuncture. This form of acupuncture involves the placement of fine-tip needles into specific points on the body.
Both acupuncture techniques stimulate the nerves to alleviate pain and help address various health conditions. Whether the nerve is reached through electrical stimulation or by a hair-thin needle, it is equally encouraged to release “qi” or disruptions to the flow of energy in the body. Once released, the qi then travels through channels called meridians, allowing the body to heal.
